Hello, Pretty Heart Community!
We’ve been busy on the ground, and it’s all thanks to your incredible support. From fresh meals to new partnerships, here is a look at how we are working together to uplift our neighbors.
Heart to Help: Consistency in the Community
Our Heart to Help efforts remain in full swing. Every month, our teams are out in Oakland and Hayward distributing essential clothing, food, and toiletries.
We also continue our monthly meal service for Kinara Pathways (formerly Downtown Streets Team). It is an honor to provide nourishment for individuals working hard toward their personal growth and development goals.
New Partnership: The F.M. Smith "Free Clothing Rack"
We are thrilled to announce a new partnership with the F.M. Smith Recreation Center! We are establishing a permanent Free Clothing Rack housed right at the center.
What it is: A stocked rack featuring clothing for all ages and genders, plus shoes, toiletries, and accessories like belts and hats.
Availability: Accessible to the public during the center’s normal operating hours.
How it works: Pretty Heart Inc. will maintain and restock the rack regularly. We will also have a donation box on-site for those who wish to give back.

To celebrate this partnership, join us for a day of music, food, and community.
When: Sunday, July 19, 2026, 1p-4p.
What: Bring clothes to give and leave with "new-to-you" items!
Perks: We’ll have the grill going with burgers and hot dogs, music playing, and a food giveaway. All are welcome!
Expanding Our Impact with EOCP
Pretty Heart Inc. has officially partnered with the East Oakland Community Project (EOCP). This umbrella organization manages five shelters across Oakland, including two dedicated specifically to families.
Because of this partnership, we are expanding the types of donations we can accept! We are now looking for:
Furniture & Bikes
Children’s Books & Toys
Blankets & Bed Sheets
Note on Large Items: While we are excited to accept these goods, please remember that we are not a hauling company. We will coordinate specific drop-off/exchange opportunities for larger items.
Urgent Need: We are currently in high demand for Men’s clothing and shoes. If you have items to spare, please reach out!

A Quick Note on our Shower Program: While our mobile shower program is a major goal, it is currently at a standstill. We are remaining optimistic and hope to touch base with the City of Oakland Aquatics in the coming quarter to get things flowing again.
